To a large extent going green is returning to the way we used to live - like growing our own vegetables and repairing things that are broken instead of throwing them away and buying new. The point is that to act green, to be green, saves money for us and helps the planet.
It is not about climate change. It is not simply reacting to news from scientists that due to climate change life as we know it will change unless we 'do something'. It is more about how we use our planet. It is about our regard for one another. Our lack of responsible stewardship of the planet indicates our disregard for one another and the spaces around us.
This just doesn't make sense, so make a change now, slowly, using the tips on this site. Start talking about it to your family and colleagues, and you will find that it gains momentum and becomes easier and more like second nature than you ever imagined it could. It doesn't take long to get into being green once you start. Once you have tasted your own organically grown vegetables you will never look back. But of course the easiest way to make a difference is to start recycling. Go to BIG Recycling for recycling tips and to Free Seeds for tips on growing your own herbs and vegetables.
